Usage limits explained

Tradion meters six things. Everything else on your plan is not counted against an allowance.

Monthly allowances

That’s 15 hours of the live analyst a month on Starter and 40 on Pro.

What is not metered

These run as often as you like on any paid plan or trial:

• Portfolio dashboard refreshes and brokerage syncs
• The Tradion Lens chat, and follow-up questions on a Trade Autopsy you already ran
• The Tradion Lens chart itself, without the live analyst
• Autopsy intake (the narrative you type before a report is generated)
• The automatic Profile recomputation that runs after a Memory reset (only using the Refresh button yourself counts)

Both chats have an hourly and a daily limit to stop runaway use, and the Tradion Lens chat also has a fair-use limit per billing period. None of these is a monthly allowance; if you reach one, the chat tells you when you can ask again.

When they reset

All six counters reset on your billing cycle date, the day of the month you subscribed, not the 1st. You can see your next reset date and current balances in Settings → Monthly Usage.

Extra live hours

Paying subscribers on either plan can add 5 live analyst hours for $10, any time, from Settings → Monthly Usage or from the prompt that opens when your live minutes run out. Bought hours are the one exception to the reset: they never expire, are used after your plan’s monthly minutes, and stay on your account through renewals, plan changes and cancellation. They can’t be bought during the free trial.

What happens at zero

You get a clear block, not a silent failure. An upgrade prompt appears naming the specific counter you exhausted. Your options are to wait for the reset, or upgrade to Pro, which charges the prorated difference immediately and grants the full Pro allowance right away, rather than pro-rating the allowance itself.

What each counter really counts

An AI Portfolio Analyst message is one message you send in the portfolio chat. The assistant’s reply, and any internal tool calls it makes to read your holdings or pull quotes, are all free. The whole exchange counts as one message. An Earnings Deep Research message is one question you send. Follow-ups count too, and so does a question that names three companies, so a wide question costs the same as a narrow one. A run that fails on Tradion’s side gives the message back. Stop does not: the message is still counted, and Ask Again after a stop is a new question. The balance sits in the top bar of Earnings Deep Research as well as in Settings → Monthly Usage. A live AI analyst minute is one minute the live analyst runs. The first minute is charged when it starts and each later one as it begins. The clock stops while the tab is hidden, while market data is down, while the analyst is paused, and outside 4:00 AM to 8:00 PM ET on trading days. The live analyst page has the full rules. A Tradion Lens snapshot is one click on Take snapshot. A snapshot that fails gives the count back, and a retry never charges twice. Leaving the page doesn’t stop it: the snapshot finishes and saves itself. A Trade Autopsy count is one generated report. Submitting the intake information, and asking follow-up questions about a completed report, are free. Any error during generation gives the count back. A manual Profile refresh is one use of the Refresh button. A failed or empty result gives the count back.
